The Takata inflator can explode with too much force and hurl shrapnel at drivers and passengers in the vehicle. At least 23 people have been killed worldwide and hundreds more have been injured. The Toyota recall covers the following vehicles.

  • 2010 through 2016 4Runner
  • 2010 through 2013 Corolla and Matrix
  • 2011 through 2014 Sienna

Some Lexus models are also part of the recall. They include the following.

  • 2010 through 2012 ES 350
  • 2010 through 2017 GX 460
  • 2010 through 2015 IS 250C and 350C
  • 2010 through 2013 IS 250 and 350
  • 2010 through 2014 IS-F

The 2010 through 2015 Scion XB is also included in the recall. Toyota and Lexus will replace the airbag inflators at their dealerships. You can check to confirm if your vehicle is under recall by going to toyota.com/recall.
