Iowa City Police are looking for answers after a strong arm robbery was reported early this morning in the 400 block of S. Clinton Street.

According to a release from the Iowa City Police Department, the incident happened at 2:16 Sunday morning while two victims were walking on S. Clinton Street. The two victims told police a vehicle, either a white Suburban or Yukon-like SUV pulled up to them and began shouting at them. The suspects then got out of the vehicle, charged the victims, and assaulted them before returning to their vehicle and fleeing.

During the assault, the victims received only slight injuries that didn't require medical attention. One of the victims told police they had personal property stolen during the attack. The victims described the suspects in the attack as five black men and one white man.
