Summer heat and humidity increase the likelihood of thunderstorms popping up without  a lot of advance warning. These strong storms have been erupting across Iowa for the past several days.  It's a good reminder to stay alert of changing weather patterns.

Colo Iowa is about 90 miles west of Cedar Rapids.
