Tyler Cook slammed home a nasty dunk on Sunday afternoon at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and then glared into the cameras of press row. He clearly was NOT happy about being in another close game this soon into the new season. Cook was in foul trouble much of the first half but scored 14 of his 17 points in the second to lead Iowa to a 93-82 win over Green Bay.

The offense for Iowa wasn't the problem. They got 17 points from Luka Garza, 13 second-half points from Jordan Bohanon, 12 from Nicholas Baer, 11 from Connor McCaffery, and 10 from Joe Wieskamp. The defense was again the issue for this Iowa team. The Hawkeyes only led by one at halftime, and Green Bay was in the game until the final five minutes.

Iowa needs to figure things out because the level of competition is about to go up several notches. Iowa travels to New York City and Madison Square Garden for the 2K Empire Classic. They face Oregon on Thursday, and then either perennial power Connecticut or Syracuse.
