Happy Valentine's Day! It's a day of love, romance, and breaking the bank to show it. Right? Wrong. The average person will only spend $34 for Valentine's Day this year, according to a recent survey.

In general, a lot of folks aren't too materialistic about this holiday anymore. Woman's Day magazine put out their list of Valentine's Day Fun Facts and found some interesting items of note:

  • Did you know Valentine's Day is NOT the most popular greeting card holiday? The "Hallmark holiday" stigma can't be completely put to rest, though. It is second only to Christmas.
  • There are 119 single women for every 100 single men. Better odds than you think when it comes to finding love! isn't that what it's all about?
  • Experiences are better than traditional gifts. Chocolate and flowers are always nice but 40% of Americans say they prefer "experiential gifts". We have an example. And another. Or how about these? THIS is going to be an AWESOME show. So is THIS. You get the idea. Book or win the tickets to these events now and enjoy an unforgettable time spent together

Whatever you go, whatever you, I'm no Richard Marx but I hope Valentine's Day is good to you.
