As a parent, when birthday's come around, it's always the question of where to hold it.  Do you take on the job of cleaning, planning, and executing at home, or the expense of just holding it somewhere else?  We've done it both ways at our house. But when it came to this year's party, my daughter didn't give us a choice. She wanted it at home, because we always come up with "cool ideas", after she chooses a theme.  For that, I say "Thank You Pinterest".

This week's "Pinteresting World" introduces 2 new things besides just the craft: A video companion "Crafting With Chris Carson" and the launch of the official KDAT Pinterest page. So now, any ideas I grab, you can easily see how to do, and/or link up to our Pinterest page to get those and more. Cool, right?

Check out this week's video to find out one simple thing you can add to your kid's next birthday party, good for either home or at another location, that'll give you some extra "cool parent" points (especially when tasked with a "Hollywood Glam" theme party).

And if you want some other fun family craft ideas, don't miss the Halloween Craft room at this year's Kidsfest at the Helen G. Nassif YMCA Downtown on Saturday Oct. 24th.  Not only will there be the craft room, but also the Kathy's Pies Cake-Walk is back by popular demand, plus the Monster Dash fun run, the costume contest, bounce house, healthy snack, and the "Not scary" haunted house. Plus new this year will be a dance party room, and the pool will be open. And the best thing is that the whole event is free for the kids, and just $5 for adults.  We hope to see you there.
