Enjoy your Memorial Day holiday as your long weekend wraps up. Celebrate the unofficial start of summer but also remember to honor those fallen soldiers, the men and women who bravely gave it all for us to have this weekend to unwind.
If you'd rather save your energy for next weekend, that would be a smart decision too, because next Saturday, June 3 marks the return of one of the biggest summer traditions in Cedar Rapids: the downtown Farmers' Market!
Blocks and blocks of food and craft vendors, entertainment and small businesses on display will line the streets of downtown Cedar Rapids for the first market of the season.
The markets are scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to noon on June 3, June 17, July 1, July 15, August 5 and August 19 as well as September 2 and 16. More information is available here.
