Because, frankly, that's what most of them have been about lately. Like a Seinfeld episode. But a blog.

Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" was supposedly written during a bout with writer's block. Feeling intense personal and record company pressure to write the perfect hit song, he kept coming up short--from which he drew inspiration to end up with one of the biggest hits of his career.

This is my attempt to replicate that--in blog form. One of my responsibilities here at the station is to write 6-7 blogs a week, preferably of the local-interest or personal variety. Sometimes, it's way harder than it sounds."You can't start a fire without a spark".

If you read my blogs last week, you'll agree: they were pure nonsense. Free glasses of water at a South Dakota drug store? Yawn. The process of moving is a pain in the rear? Doable, but not ideal. Closing the curtains and staying in your home's lower level to keep cool in the heat (a topic which, in and of itself, only goes so far)? Possibly an all-time low.

I normally don't have trouble trying to write blogs, but I've been drawing a complete blank lately. I get a little perfectionistic and, not to boast, but I'm usually proud of what I end up with. But for some reason, the past week has just been a struggle. The latest suggestion to help me with this was to "write from the heart". I'm always open to ideas from you, and I could write about my personal life...if I had one. Oh, I did karaoke for the second time. Been there done that, it was still fun but I blogged about it the first time.

So where does that leave me? I'm sure I'll come up with something and get out of this slump. It's my job so I kind of have to.
