The public bathroom facilites on the 4th floor here at Plaza 425 are always clean and well stocked. And we're lucky to have a private bathroom in our office as well. But "private" doesn't always mean "functional" as we recently discovered at 104.5 KDAT.

Recently we were caught off guard, seeing this posted upon entering our stall.

Which started me thinking. Why is it we are so uncomfortable with "going" out-of-home? My wife hates having to "go" in public and will do everything short of bursting a bladder to avoid it. "Men have it easy, you can go anytime and almost anywhere" she says.

I must admit it's true. But even us guys like our facilities to be clean and tidy. Whether you're out shopping or at work with an out-of-order toilet like ours, what is your go-to place to...go?

Here are few tips along with some basic rules of bathroom ettiquette when nature calls while you're out-of-home.

TIP: Starbucks Coffee Shops have nice private bathrooms, but it's usually only one stall, so you might have to wait in line.

TIP: The public library is also a good stop, and afterward you can always browse for a good book. I said AFTERWARD.

TIP: Casey's General Stores are super clean, multi-use facilities. I give them the highest rating for convenience stores/gas stations.

RULE #1: Only Number 1 - No "number two" - take care of anything else at home!*celebrities cry faces ugly mick fanning

RULE #2: Wash your hands afterward! - Yes, it's the law if you're at work but it's also just basic hygiene.

RULE #3: No Cell Phone calls please! - No one is that interested in your business, so pipe down!

*FINAL TIP: If you ever have to break RULE #1 above, my suggestion is find an upper-quality hotel chain (think Double Tree) and as inconspicuously as possible, slip into the lobby bathroom on the main floor. Walk like you own the hotel on your way in, and casually stroll out afterwards. And don't even think of making eye contact with the front desk clerk.

I'm sure there are a lot of clean, convenient stops around Cedar Rapids so I'll ask you to share your go-to places that you recommend.

Where do you go when you GOTTA GO?!?
