Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for those wishing for a white Christmas, but I might have been a little overconfident in my prediction last week. Our weather partners at CBS2 report that a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Cedar Rapids on Friday, December 23. Snow accumulation of 1-2 inches is expected for Cedar Rapids, but don't panic--or get your hopes up, as by Christmas Day on Sunday, with temperatures possibly cracking the 50-degree mark, it's likely much of that accumulation will disappear. The big surprise is that, according to AccuWeather, there could be, of all things on Christmas Day, RAIN. Of course, this combination of snow, rain, ice and temperatures fluctuating between above and below freezing may bring us a lovely "wintry mix", mucking up holiday travel a bit. It wouldn't be Christmas in Iowa if the weather was predictable.

Be safe and have a Merry Christmas!
