With studies like this, my wife is liable to make me sleep on the couch and promote the dog to being the little spoon in bed.

Researchers at Canisius College in New York took a look at the sleeping habits and quality of women who share a bed with their pets. They found that women actually sleep better when they share the bed with their dog than when they share it with another person.

The study found that women who share a bed with a dog went to bed earlier, kept a better sleep schedule, and woke up less often during the night. No word if men sleep better with dogs or other people.

Turns out sleeping with a cat does not have the same effect. Women who slept with a cat in their bed had worse sleep.
