The Kids’ Choice Awards is a more casual event, but the stars and celebs still come out and put their best fashion foot forward on the orange carpet. Or they at least try to! But some don’t always succeed.
These are the outfits and attire we liked the least at the 2014 Kids’ Choice Awards (March 29), and mostly because they felt out of sync with the spirt of the show.
Kaley Cuoco had the right idea with shorts, but the boxy coat, leather trim and the bold print didn’t feel spring-like or youthful, which is the vibe of this particular event. This outfit would have served the actress better at a more formal event. That said, we love this take on strappy shoes.
Actress America Ferrera is adorable, but her black and blue pantsuit was too dark and un-fun for this event. Like Cuoco, this was a bit too dressy and mature for this event –and that’s why she landed on this list.
Zendaya‘s booties gave off the illusion that she was wearing socks with heels, which is never, like, ever a good look. The rest of her outfit’s pieces were incongruous — the destroyed Daisy Dukes didn’t quite go with the shoes, the pearl-embellished shirt and ballerina topknot. The heavy bangs and ruby lips didn’t quite fit, either. Girls got legs, though!
Christina Milian is so infinitely cute and petite, and while a floral maxidress screams “SUMMER,” her dress was a bit too long and swallowed her whole. We thought she was going to trip over the hem.
Tia Mowry’s black-lined dress was busy and was hard too look at, especially with the ombre fabric. Even so, she has amazing legs.
Cody Simpson‘s sister Alli was on trend with a shorts set, but the heavy denim fabric and smoky eye makeup weren’t spring-ready. She looked stiff and uncomfortable.
