Yacht Rock Stars Coming to Cedar Rapids
Easy listening, soft rock, folk rock. It has even recently developed a new name, "yacht rock". Whatever you want to call it, there was a period in the '70s and early '80s where this type of music was huge.
It was a really light, smooth, breezy but upbeat style of music that you heard from Christopher Cross, Dan Fogelberg, Michael McDonald and others, and one of the era's biggest artists is coming to Cedar Rapids.
It was just announced that America is coming to the Paramount Theatre on Friday, November 17! Their most famous songs include "Sister Golden Hair", "A Horse with No Name" and "Ventura Highway". Tickets will range in cost from $42-$62 and will go on sale Friday, June 23 at 10 a.m. through the Paramount Theatre box office and website.
