10 Biggest Winners in the History of the Iowa Lottery [PHOTOS]
In the 37 years since the Iowa Lottery began in the summer of 1985, a lot of people have become millionaires. Many of them have become boo coo millionaires. Here are the people that have won more than any other. The top 10 money winners in the history of the lottery in Iowa.

The only out-of-stater on the list, Jacquelyn Moore of Omaha, Nebraska came from the Cornhusker state to the Hawkeye state to purchase her ticket for the October 20, 2004 Powerball drawing. It was worth the trip. She won $14.4 million and claimed her prize 12 days later.
Allen & Roice Earles of Maquoketa won Lotto America on March 21, 1990. The jackpot was worth $19.64 million.
John Hall of Indianola took his family along to claim a $19.97 million check, one earned by winning Hot Lotto on February 2, 2007. They were at the Iowa Lottery headquarters four days later.
The Top seven money winners in Iowa Lottery history are all Powerball winners.
Timothy Schultz of Des Moines won the Powerball drawing on February 10, 1999. The drawing was worth $28 million, but he decided to go with the giant, lump-sum payment of $15,922,377.
The Hasken Family (left to right) Michelle, James, Larry, Michael, and Sarann, of Sabula, Iowa, won the January 12, 2000 Powerball drawing. It was worth $31.8 million but twelve days later they took the lump-sum payment. It was for the tidy sum of $16.093 million.
Ok, now we're getting into the really big money. The winners of nine digits worth of cash.
Hugh Hawkins of Des Moines started 2006 in a big way. He won the January 3 Powerball drawing that year and won $113.2 million. He was ready for the money, claiming the prize the following day. He's the only Top 10 winner that showed up at lottery headquarters in a suit and tie.
Tim and Kellie Guderian of Fort Dodge won $200.8 million in the Powerball drawing on October 4, 2006. It was a week later when they cashed it in.
The Lohse Family/KJH Family LLC was also an October Powerball winner, winning the jackpot of $202.1 million on October 4, 2012.
Known as The Shipping 20 from Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids, this group won $241 million on June 20, 2012. I recall a lot more interest in joining at-work pools to buy lottery tickets after these guys won the big prize.
The biggest Iowa Lottery winner of all time is Lerynne West of Redfield. She won just shy of $344 million ($343.9 to be exact) with the Powerball drawing on November 8, 2018.
You can see all of the people that have won at least one million dollars through the Iowa Lottery here. There are about 175 of them in the lottery's 37 years. That's an average of just under five per year.
