Today was a good day. Not just for the 20 restaurants chosen to take part in the 2022 edition of Restaurant Week in Cedar Rapids, but also for everyone who will get to try out all of the restaurants' special menu items.

Restaurant Week in is actually 10 days this year. According to Maddie Stovie, event planner at the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, the 10 days is a representative number:

We wanted to make the tenth year of Restaurant Week be bigger and better, so we extended it into ten days. Many restaurants are still feeling the impact of the pandemic. We hope by having a longer event, which includes two weekends, local diners will get out and support more of our fabulous restaurants.

A total of 20 restaurants were chosen this year, following an application process. In a media release, the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance said the restaurants were picked on several criteria and had to be locally owned and operated. Diverse options and varying price points are a guarantee when you look at the list of restaurants that will take part this year with limited-time specialty dishes.

The 10th Annual Restaurant Week is Friday, February 18 through Sunday, February 27. Below are the 20 restaurants that made the cut this year:
