The new year is upon us, and as we look back, there were quite a few new restaurants that popped up this year that became big stories. One of them is still in the process of being built, getting ready for it's 2016 opening.  However, 2 other popular locations will be leaving us.

As of January 3rd, there will no longer be a Burger King by Lindale Mall.  According to management, there were numerous factors leading to the decision, from increased lease rates to the widening of Collins Road over the next 2 years. It's been a staple for mall goers and those of us on that end of town for the past 30 years.  However, there is some good news, as apparently they are looking for a new location to build on. Although nothing is confirmed, we're hopeful it will be close enough to the current location. Before you get too excited though, management has also revealed it'll at least be 2017 before the new restaurant would be open.

We've also learned the lease is expiring for the Pizza Hut on Edgewood SW, just off 16th Ave., next to CVS.  According to this listing, a new lease is available starting February 1, as the current lease ends at the end of this year. As the ad refers to the "Former Pizza Hut", we're guessing that restaurant will be leaving this location.
