3 Ways to Spend a Hawk-Free Saturday

Hey, this is what I am doing almost every Saturday anyway, so don't knock it until you try it. Get caught up on some of those chores or projects (ahem...blogs) you've been procrastinating on.

Hiawatha, Marion and Iowa City have Farmers' Markets this weekend, there are theater productions such as The King & I at Hancher Auditorium in Iowa City and Playtime Poppy's Aladdin & The Magic Lamp at Jefferson High School, The Cedar Rapids Food Truck Festival, RoughRiders hockey and Rampage soccer, and lots of Halloween-themed events as well. Iowa State plays Kansas this Saturday, and the game will be televised locally at 11 a.m. on Fox 28. There's no shame in supporting the other teams from the state when the Hawks aren't playing. There are always dozens of other college games on every Saturday as well, of course, to feed your football fix. Go Cyclones!
