A one-vehicle crash early Sunday morning has claimed the life of a nine-year-old boy.

Ace Reaves of Oelwein was killed when the vehicle his mom was driving left the roadway just after midnight Sunday morning, July 19, north of Jesup, Iowa on Baxter Avenue.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office says 35-year-old Robyn Reaves lost control of the vehicle she was driving, went into the ditch, and hit a culvert.

According to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, 6-year-old Ryker Reaves was air-lifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City with unspecified injuries. Ryker's condition has not been released.

Iowa's News Now says Robyn Reaves was taken by ambulance to Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Details on her injuries, as well as her condition, have not been released.

KWWL reports the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office and Iowa State Patrol continue to investigate the accident.

A crash in Cedar Falls at approximately 12:15 Sunday afternoon left one person dead.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier says a Nissan SUV didn't stop at a stop sign on West Ridgeway Avenue, at Hudson Road. The SUV traveled thru the intersection and struck the side of a Freightliner semi.

The person driving the SUV was taken to Mercy One Hospital in Waterloo, where they passed away. She has been identified as 42-year-old Rebecca Hall-Fencl of Waterloo. The semi driver was not hurt.
