A Cedar Rapids Coffee Shop is Expanding to Iowa City

A popular Cedar Rapids coffee shop is getting a second location! Dash Coffee Roasters, which opened up at 120 3rd Ave SW in November of last year, is going to be making its way down to Iowa City.

If you're not familiar with Dash Coffee Roasters, their website says:

"'Good enough isn’t good enough.' It’s the statement that pushes us to pursue better in all aspects at Dash. We’re a group of coffee loving, community seeking, passionate people who settled into Cedar Rapids, Iowa to build our “dash”. Life comes down to the dash that represents all you’ve spent your years doing, and we want ours to represent something huge! We’ve set out to cultivate a community that gathers around a cup of meticulously crafted coffee and grows in relationship and life from there."

The Cedar Rapids location is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and they offer a variety of beverages, as well as some breakfast and lunch options.

Owners Rebecca and Phil Davidson made the Iowa City announcement on the official Facebook page last week, writing:

"We only hope IC will welcome us the way CR has in the past year! We'll keep pushing forward with you as long as you'll have us. We can't wait to build more community, hear more stories, & serve more coffee!!!"

The new location will be in the Northside Commons, along with other businesses like Pagliai's Pizza, Hamburg Inn No. 2, and Bluebird Diner. I think it will be a great fit, because we all know how much college kids need their coffee! There is no opening date listed yet, but if you live in the Iowa City area, be on the lookout for your potential new favorite coffee shop.
