Warmer weather here in Eastern Iowa means the return of outdoor activities, and that includes mini golf!

According to a new Facebook post from the Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department, the Mini Pines Golf Course will officially open for the season today, Tuesday, March 15th. The course is located right next to Twin Pines Golf Course at 3800 42nd Street NE and will operate daily from 10 a.m. until dusk.

Mini Pines first opened in Cedar Rapids last summer and features 18-holes in a family-friendly environment. The website reads:

"Navigate through the course as it loops to a pond area and a nine-foot waterfall, challenging you with four holes that involve water play. Each hole provides a unique experience that can be fun and social, or competitive. The course routes you back towards the clubhouse through a final 'horse race' hole where anyone has a chance to win."

A round of mini-golf at Mini Pines is $3 for ages four and under, $6 for students, $8 for adults ages 19 to 61, and $7 for ages 62 and up, with punch passes available for frequent golfers. You can get more information on the course HERE.

Another popular outdoor mini-golf course is the one at Airport National Public Golf Course at 3001 Wright Brothers Blvd in Cedar Rapids. That course hasn't opened for the season yet, but the Facebook page says they are aiming for Monday, March 21st. You can follow the Facebook page for up to date information.

The mini-golf course at AirFX Trampoline Park in Hiawatha has also not opened for the season yet. For updates on that one, visit the Facebook page HERE.
