A new cafe, bakery, and deli is in the works in Johnson County. Get ready for Barrett's Quality Eats!

Barrett's Quality Eats is moving into the space at 3242 Crosspark Road in Coralville, which is located near Jersey Mike's and Foundry Food + Tap. According to the Corridor Business Journal, the restaurant will offer "fresh bread, bagels, salads, sandwiches, pastries, coffee and more."

We don't know too many details about the new eatery just yet, but we do know that the owner Chef Cory Barrett has spent a LOT of time in the kitchen. He has over 20 years of culinary experience! According to a 2019 interview, Cory is a native of Ohio, but went to school and has spent much of his career in Michigan. He is a James Beard Award Semifinalist and the season five winner of the Food Network Spring Baking Championship, plus he's been featured on 17 episodes of Iron Chef. Every photo he posts on his Instagram account looks delicious!

Barrett's Quality Eats has started posting updates on Instagram, and the first is news about the coffee. The eatery is teaming up with Stone Brú Coffee out of Sioux City to create a "unique, incredibly delicious 'All Day' coffee roasted right here in Iowa!"

We don't have an official opening date for Barrett's Quality Eats just yet, but it's reportedly expected to open in late spring. You can follow the new eatery on Instagram for the latest updates HERE.

If you're a fan of the Food Network, be sure to check out the latest season of 'Kids Baking Championship.' 13-year-old Nash Roe of Des Moines is absolutely KILLING IT so far! You can read more about him and his Iowa business Nash's Confections HERE.
