There were a lot of highlights from the Presidental Inauguration back on January 20th, but one of the biggest ones has to be the Bernie Sanders meme that took over the internet after the event.

In case you somehow missed it, photojournalist Brendan Smialowski managed to capture a very simple photo of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders sitting alone in a chair with his arms crossed, donning some very unique mittens. People loved the photo so much that they began photoshopping Bernie into anything and everything, including movie posters, scenes from TV and film, album covers, their own photos, paintings, and more.

Bernie seems to be a good sport about his viral photo. He actually took advantage of the situation and used his image to raise money for charity! According to an article from CNBC:

"The senator’s campaign store released a sweatshirt featuring the meme, with 100% of proceeds going toward Meals on Wheels Vermont. The crewneck has since sold out."

Since then, other products with Bernie's iconic picture have begun to pop up all over the place, including a local bakery! Kathy's Pies, located at 616 5th Avenue SE in downtown Cedar Rapids, announced yesterday on social media that they have begun selling Bernie Sanders cookies! The post reads:

"Bernie has made it to Kathy’s Pies & Bakery. Call to place an order of Bernie Frosted Sugar Cookies today."

Check out a photo of the hilarious cookies:

The cookies are available by pre-order by phone at (319) 362-5216. They are $16.95 a dozen. Kathy's Pies is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
