After a couple of sneak peek opening dates, the newly remodeled Tic Toc in Cedar Rapids is finally open for business!

Early last week, a closed Cedar Rapids bar and restaurant rose from the dead. Tic Toc, located at 600 17th Street NE, is officially back open for business under new management. The building sat vacant for quite some time, but in recent weeks, folks in the area started noticing some major changes and speculating about what would be going in. Then, on March 10th, Tic Toc cleared up the rumors on their new Facebook page by revealing that the once popular bar would be back in business.

I never got the pleasure of checking out the old Tic Toc before it closed, but based on the photos I've seen, the place is almost unrecognizable now. Everything inside the restaurant from the floor to the ceiling looks brand new, and the exterior has a fresh coat of white paint. But, despite all of the changes, Tic Toc did keep a few iconic items from the past on their menu. I was told that the mozzarella sticks were incredible back in the day, so I knew I was going to have to stop in and try them ASAP.

Because I never tried the old ones, I can't confirm that they taste exactly the same, but I can confirm that they were huge and delicious. After eating two of them, I was almost too full to eat my burger! Almost...

In addition to the great food, we also had a wonderful server. She revealed to us that the menu has not been finalized yet, so more items will be added in the future. We will definitely be back for more, possibly breakfast next time!

Tic Toc is open Sunday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Here are some photos from my our lunch on Friday afternoon:
