A New Bar & Restaurant is Coming to the Ped Mall in Iowa City
Get ready for a new dining option in Johnson County! Thanks to a new article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette, we now know that Harry's Bar & Grill is coming to East Washington Street in Iowa City's Ped Mall.
Harry's Bar & Grill is a new eatery that will be situated right between Mesa and Bo-James at 116 E Washington Street in Iowa City. The space has been home to many other businesses over the years, but most recently it was the location of the Keto Kitchen. The Keto Kitchen relocated to the Armstrong Building in Downtown Cedar Rapids in 2022 and held its grand opening back in January. Other previous tenants include Food Republic and MELK Diner & Cereal Bar.
According to the Facebook page, Harry's Bar & Grill is a "locally-owned startup featuring casual, full-service, comfort food dining produced by a scratch kitchen with a counter-cultural, rock'n'roll attitude." They haven't posted a full menu just yet, but a comment from the restaurant says they will offer breakfast/brunch, burgers, Jersey/Philly sandwiches, fried chicken, and more. A sneak peek of the menu shows four of the sandwich options: the "Philthy Animal" Taylor, a Philly Cheesesteak, the Pork Roll, Egg & Cheese, and the Curdz 'n' Shroomz Po' Boy. It also appears that some mac & cheese will be on there, too!
The folks at Harry's Bar & Grill have not announced an official opening date just yet, but they hope to start welcoming customers soon. For the latest updates from the restaurant, you can follow the Facebook page HERE.
