The southwest side of Cedar Rapids has a new restaurant to enjoy!

Back on July 15th, Quinton's Bar & Deli officially opened up a new location at 5741 C Street SW in Cedar Rapids. The building was most recently home to Zio Johno's, which closed back in July of 2020.

If you're not familiar with Quinton's, the popular bar and deli opened their Iowa City location back in 1999. According to an old Cedar Rapids Gazette article, the restaurant expanded to Coralville in 2010 and Des Moines in 2011. In 2017, they opened their first Cedar Rapids location over in the Kinston Village (across from the McGrath Amphitheatre). At that time, a managing partner of Quinton's Iowa told the Gazette that they hoped to open two or three locations in Cedar Rapids, so it's not surprising that the second has arrived just a few years later.

Quinton's offers a variety of items like burgers, sandwiches, salads, bread bowl soups, and mac & cheese, but my personal favorite menu items are the SPUDS. Basically, they serve up TWO baked potatoes with a whole slew of topping options. My personal favorite is the "Tree Hugger," which features green peppers, tomatoes, red onion, black olives, queso, shredded cheese, butter, sour cream, and salsa. Yes, it tastes as good as it sounds.

The kitchen at the new Cedar Rapids Quinton's location is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Thursdays they have an all-day happy hour where they offer tallboys, spirits, and select drafts for half-off. You can read the latest updates from the new restaurant on their Facebook page HERE.
