It's the middle of July. If you're a kid, you don't want to think about going back to school already! If you're a parent, you're probably more than ready.

The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department and Macaroni Kid team up for the annual event that makes going back to school easier for kids and parents.

The 7th Annual Back 2 School Bash & Expo will be held on Saturday, August 3rd from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the McGrath Amphitheatre.

Tickets are limited for this event at a cost of $5. Kids 18-and-under to attend and receive swag packs of school supplies and a snack. You must register by 4 p.m. on Friday, August 2nd at CRREC.org (register for program #103602-01) or by calling 319-286-5566.

You can also stop in person for more information at the Northwest Recreation Center, 1340 11th St. NW OR at City Services Center, 500 15th Ave. SW. The rain date is Sunday, August 4.

Parents, non-students, or those not interested in the school supply promotion but are accompanying a ticket-holding child can attend free of charge to enjoy the bounce houses, games and entertainment. Concessions available for purchase.
