George Thorogood has been busy. There's a new album coming out on April 15, 2022, and he's kicking off his next tour which includes two dates in Iowa in May, 2022.

We were fortunate to talk to George in the studio recently and you can listen to our entire interview here. He's witty, and fun and took his time talking to us about what the state of Iowa's new tagline should be, his thoughts on other artists like Amy Winehouse, the Rolling Stones, and how his daughter is crushing it as a guitar player.

The artist, known for his hard-hitting, party-down, mega-hits like Bad to the Bone, I Drink Alone, Who Do You Love, and Get a Haircut will be performing at Hoyt Sherman Place, Des Moines on May 1 and at the Paramount Theater, Cedar Rapids on May 3.

Listen for your chance to win tickets to the show here at the station or purchase your tickets to the Cedar Rapids and Des Moines shows online.

The official George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Good to Be Bad: 45 Years of Rock tour kicks off on April 29 in Wisconsin Dells and continues into 2023 spanning the world with appearances in Spain, France, Germany, and Belgium. Find the complete list of tour dates here.

Since 1976, George and the boys have sold over 15 million albums, built a catalog of classic hits, and played more than 8,000 rocking live shows. They broke records with their 50 Dates/50 States tour, delivered unforgettable performances at Live Aid and on SNL, and became mainstays of radio, MTV and stages worldwide for more than two generations.

Through it all, they’ve remained one of the most consistent, passionate, perpetuators of blues-based rock in pop culture history. The band's new album comes out this week.

The Original George Thorogood will be released on CD, digitally, and in two vinyl LP configurations, including black vinyl and, for the ultimate collector, a limited-edition Translucent Orange LP.

Here's another cool thing about the tour. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help destroy blood cancers.

100% of the net proceeds raised through the sales of the Destroyers blood cancer t-shirt will be donated to LLS to help advance breakthrough therapies for blood cancer patients.

When I asked George about raising money for LLS he said, "why wouldn't we want to support the cause? There can't be enough money spent on people suffering from these life-threatening diseases?"

The shirt will be available at live shows and also in Thorogood's online store.  You can go here to purchase.
