Big Brothers Big Sisters Collects Large Bowling-Infused Windfall

Some good news has arrived from our local offices of Big Brothers Big Sisters. The annual Bowl For Kids Sake campaign netted a nice sum for a great local organization.

2,665 Eastern Iowans laced up the bowling shoes and raised $351,934. It's one of my favorite winter traditions. Bowl For Kids Sake inspires children to achieve success in life.

Becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister isn't a huge time commitment, and the satisfaction of mentoring a kid in our area is priceless.

There are many groups who bowl year after year. The 2015 campaign saw 22 new companies getting involved. Hats off to the BBBS officials who expanded their reach. 700 children are in the program.
