We are so bummed!

After celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2020, then having to cancel the festivities due to the pandemic in 2021, there was encouraging news to fans, patrons, and judges to "save the date" for February 2022. Unfortunately, the groups behind another community event appear to be saying farewell as it looks like the hugely popular "Blues 'n Buffett Chili Challenge" will not only not happen in February of 2022, it appears to be ending forever!

A Facebook post for the event, run by the Isle of Iowa Parrot Head Club said this:

With a bit of sadness we are announcing that after finishing our 20th year, the the Blues and Buffet Chili Challenge will not happen in February 2022.....and beyond. We want to thank all our sponsors, community businesses who have donated to our silent auctions and the venues who have opened their doors to us....most recently The Marriott in Cedar Rapids. They have been so accommodating and helpful over the years we were there.
The Isle of Iowa Parrot Head Club and Linn County Blues Society partnered up every year for this event. A number of my coworkers over the years have been asked to judge the event, but I've only ever been a patron.
It's an amazing afternoon of chili-tasting, charity auctions, and 50/50 raffles in support of great causes and organizations in Cedar Rapids, and now, according to the website, it has been "canceled indefinitely".
