Boston Fish Seafood Market & Restaurant, more commonly known as Boston Fish, is no more.

The restaurant at 804 5th St. SE in downtown Cedar Rapids closed in May but its building is the new home to a revamped "Bostons", which opened Tuesday. The new menu and tagline "evolving since 1942", are a nod to new owners Kory Nanke and Rob, Jarrad and Ryne Bly.

The former owner, Lenore Zoll, has opened her own new venture. "The Fish" will reportedly be "carrying on the traditions of Boston Fish". Zoll's business model for "The Fish" is already evolving in its own right. Starting as a food truck concept, she is now considering a brick-and-mortar location. That location has yet to be found, but with another soon-to-open seafood restaurant coming to Cedar Rapids, there's nothing fishy about the growth of a long-limited niche in the restaurant industry of our city.

Bostons is currently open from 11 a.m to 4 p.m Monday-Saturday with a limited lunch menu. It offers seafood like fish and chips, a cod sandwich, po boy sandwiches, fish tacos, calamari, clam chowder and more. You can even get non-seafood dishes like prime rib and Cajun grilled chicken.

Let's eat!
