What's the old saying? If a deal looks to good to be true, it probably is. Sounds about right. But every once in awhile, a deal comes along and surprises people. Then you're one of the people wishing they'd gotten in on said deal while the getting was good. This is not one of those stories.

As I've gotten older, one of the things that has begun to interest me more is the world of watches. Not the new smart watches that can do everything under the sun, but traditional, old fashioned time pieces. I have three nice watches at home and have officially started looking for more to add to my collection. I'm not out looking to buy a Rolex or anything, but I'm interested in brands that have a solid history behind them. One of the most famous watches ever made is the Seiko 5 automatic. In fact, Seiko has stopped making them and moved on to a different model and set of specs. The Seiko 5 can compete with nearly any other automatic watch at its price point and above.

So while browsing Facebook one afternoon about three weeks ago I saw the above image as an advertisement. I clicked on it, and it took me to THIS website. I was wanting to find a decent looking watch with a band like the one advertised. And the best part? This was an automatic Seiko 5! What an amazing deal! I kept looking at the webpage, looking for some sort of fine print, and when I couldn't find any, I pulled the trigger. It was only $30, and it's a Seiko 5! Yesterday afternoon I got my watch in the mail.

Ok, a little smaller than I expected, but hey, it's still a Seiko 5 automatic right? Right? Wait, what?

It doesn't even say Seiko on it. It's an Oshrzo 8. Plus, it's a quartz battery watch and not an automatic. And the day of the week is in Chinese! I actually laughed out loud after opening this up yesterday afternoon.

Sure, I could send it back and maybe get my $30 back. But I figured instead I'd show the rest of you out there about a deal that really was too good to be true. That said, if you have a legit Seiko 5 automatic you're willing to part with, I'm willing to listen!
