Bryan Adams brought his amazing "Get Up" tour to Cedar Rapids and the U.S. Cellular Center on Sunday night. I was there and it was a solid two hours that were, honestly, a dream realized. I'm not exaggerating -- not even a little.

First, I need to thank my boss, Mike Ferris, for scoring me the stellar view you see below in a pre-show shot I took. Not the best pic, but that's just how my phone likes to roll. Note to self: bring a real camera next time. At that point, I shut off my electronic device and settled in for a night of fun that no one there will ever forget. I regret not being able to find friends to join me, but after all, it was Sunday night and some people have real jobs to go to on Monday.

What was the highlight? Would it be cheating to say all of it? Because that would be the honest answer. My inner 12-year-old and I, along with the rest of the audience were standing (luckily for the people behind me, I'm short), singing, dancing, clapping, foot-tapping, and (someone who shall remain nameless) was even doing a little air guitar. The show started with "Do What You Gotta Do", segueing right into "Can't Stop This Thing We Started," and from that point -- we couldn't.

From a solo acoustic performance of "Straight From the Heart" to "The Only Thing That Looks Good on Me Is You" and (almost) everything in between, the classics were fully represented. Sometimes you see a legendary artist put out new material that's a shell of their former glory. Not in this case. "Brand New Day" and "Go Down Rockin'" are instant new classics from the tour's namesake and current album, "Get Up". Bryan Adams has not lost a step.

I also want to point out a fun interaction I had with the concessionaires as I purchased my knock-off Red Bull for the show. Whether or not I had ID and was 18 was jokingly asked by the concessionaire to both me and the cashier. You apparently need to be 18 to buy these drinks. I joked back by saying "I certainly won't be acting like it tonight!"

So many memorable performances but I've narrowed it down to a few.

"Everything I Do (I Do it For You)"

For the first time I can remember at a concert, this one made me close my eyes. I quit singing and mouthed the words, and even got a little teary-eyed, I'm not going to lie. One of so many epic songs I grew up on and one of his best.

    "Somebody"

This was a great and unique performance. He explained beforehand that he had taken submissions of fans' headshot photos through his website and turned it into a collage of photos on the jumbo tron. The collage zoomed out over a view of Bryan live on stage at that moment. It was a very cool performance.

    "Cuts Like a Knife"

This got the crowd rockin' and on their feet throughout the whole song and where the aforementioned air guitar came into play.
