JCI USA has announced their recipients for their 2021 Ten Outstanding Young Americans award. All of the recipients will be honored tomorrow, Saturday, September 18th, in St. Louis.

Among the ten selected for the 2021 class is Iowa's own Carson King.

In 2019, College Gameday came into town for the Iowa vs. Iowa State football game, but the biggest story from that day was a simple sign.

Carson King stood behind the College Gameday presenters with a sign that read "Busch Light Supply Needs Replenished" along with his Venmo tag. After his account hit the $10,000 mark, he decided he would donate whatever came in to his account to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City.

After word got out about this young guy's generosity, the numbers skyrocketed, with matches from Venmo and Busch Light bringing the total to almost $3 million.

Last weekend, after the Cy-Hawk game, Carson posted "Round 2?" and over the same weekend raised over $70,000 for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.

Carson will be receiving the award from JCI USA alongside 9 other young Americans:

  • Trung Lam - Hawaii
  • Kristen Hoyt - Texas
  • U.S. Air Force SMSgt Jessica Roper - Hawaii
  • Roy Hall - Ohio
  • Eric Salzwedel - Wisconsin
  • Desteny Miler - Nebraska
  • Jahmiah Gino Cyrus - South Caroina
  • Sean Hand - Pennsylvania
  • Antonio Smith - Ohio
