Cedar Falls Hotel To Become Senior Living Space
A failing Cedar Falls hotel is reinventing itself.
The Lifestyle Inn in Cedar Falls has been shut down for some time now. When Boston Equity Partners purchased the 68,000 square-foot building at 5826 University Avenue, they hoped to create an affordable place for seniors to reside in.
This hotel has gone through a few different iterations dating all the way back to the 1960s. Now, it will be giving seniors 60 and older a place to live.
According to reports, this space will transform from a hotel with 120 rooms into a facility with 60 independent living suites geared towards senior citizens. This independent living complex has been underway since 2022 when the company began reconstruction.
It will be called "Residences at University Heights", and construction is anticipated to wrap up this fall. Reports claim that residents will be able to move into the facility sometime in October or November.
The rooms will be 640-square foot and will cost $2,300 per month. This will include two meals, activities, transportation, housekeeping, and amenities.
Some of the amenities at the new facility will include an indoor pool, fitness space, library, and lounge, according to officials. Just for clarification, this Cedar Falls space will not be a nursing home, nor will they offer assisted living.
