Cedar Rapids is not only Iowa's second-largest city, but it's also one of the oldest in the state. That makes for a perfect combination for the city to be featured on a new television show. 'Historic Buildings of Iowa: Cedar Rapids' is coming soon.

According to Only In Your State, Cedar Rapids was incorporated as a city in 1849, making it the 7th-oldest city in Iowa. Dubuque is the oldest, incorporated 16 years earlier.

Cedar Rapids has plenty of very famous structures to feature on a new PBS show. According to Iowa PBS,  "Viewers will journey through the architecture, culture, and history intertwined throughout the buildings of Cedar Rapids. Through extensive indoor filming, aerial perspectives, and in-depth interviews, Iowa PBS presents a definitive look at multiple structures in Iowa's second-largest city."

The Iowa PBS website says the show will also air on Sunday, March 7 (1:30 p.m.) and Saturday, March 13 (2:30 p.m.) on Iowa PBS .1 and Saturday, March 13 (8:30 p.m.) on Iowa PBS World .3.

Also, a big thank you to OPN Architects, who is providing programming support to Iowa PBS for the show.
