According to KCRG, "On April 12, authorities responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) on 1st Avenue SE."

The suspect has been described as a black male wearing red sweatpants and a blue shirt. Employees had a hard time with the description because the man was wearing a black face mask.

The KCRG story stated the suspect displayed a handgun and was handed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. The man left the business on foot after taking the cash.

Officers were called to the KFC and checked the area but were unable to locate the man. He was last seen running through an alley behind the business.

The employees were a little shook up, but nobody was hurt and no shots were fired. The investigation will continue today, and we will provide you with an update as soon as we learn more details.

If you have any information that may lead to an arrest, call Cedar Rapids Police at (319) 286-5491.
