It was one year ago this past weekend (and just a week before the election) when both major party Presidential candidates visited Cedar Rapids on the same day.

Hillary Clinton spoke to the crowd at New Bo Market in the afternoon.

Donald Trump spoke to a crowd at McGrath Amphitheater that same evening.

What we may not have realized at the time was how big a "battleground" state Iowa was to both candidates.

It seems ironic that on this weekend, Special Counsel Robert Meuller's office has issued indictments to several former Trump campaign staffers in the U.S. investigation probe into alleged Russian involvement in the 2016 election.

I sometimes wonder where we will all be this time next year.
