Sought After Cedar Rapids Prep to Play Football at University of Iowa
[UPDATE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 1:35 PM] A player that plenty of schools around the country wanted to play for them has decided he's staying home and will become a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Nick Brooks, who is celebrating his birthday today, made the announcement at 1:30 this afternoon in the Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School cafeteria.
In making the announcement, Brooks pulled out an Iowa ballcap and announced "I'll be committed to the University of Iowa."

Sought After 4-Star Recruit
No less than 25 schools have offered a scholarship to an offensive lineman from Cedar Rapids Kennedy. Nick Brooks is not only considered the number one recruit in the state of Iowa for the 2025 class he's also likely the biggest.
One of the Nation's Top Recruits
After spending a couple of years playing high school football in Georgia, Brooks has returned to his home state and is part of the Kennedy offensive line. 247 Sports composite score ranks Brooks as the 120th-best player in the 2025 class. He's the 12th-ranked offensive tackle nationally and is rated as the number two recruit in the state of Iowa.
College Interest Has Come From Around the Nation
As I mentioned earlier, Brooks has received over 25 scholarship offers. His first came from the Georgia Bulldogs in early 2022. Georgia is the 2-time defending college football national champion.
Among other schools offering Brooks scholarships are Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. In early April, an offer came from the University of Iowa.
The Top 5
Earlier this week, Brooks revealed the five schools he was still considering.
Decision to be Revealed
Brooks will announce his verbal commitment to one of the five schools this Friday (9/8) afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School cafeteria. If it's the Hawkeyes, it will be a great start to Iowa-Iowa State weekend.
