Cedar Rapids Should Start Selling Ads On Parking Tickets

I've received a bunch of parking tickets lately from the fine folks at Park Cedar Rapids. Granted, I can only blame myself for not getting there in time to feed the machine, but damn they're really fast fast!

Staring at the last one that I received, which is still stuck to my windshield even after a car wash...it gave me a really good idea!

Park Cedar Rapids should sell ads on the envelopes the tickets come in. As a downtown bar owner, I would pay for my logo and a drink special to be on the front of every ticket issued. It's prime real estate, let's do this!

My only worry is that I would be associating myself with something that people just hate to see on their windshield when they get back to their vehicle. Nobody likes a ticket, it sucks and there is nothing you can do about it. But think of all the cash that could be generated from a project like this!

With all of the extra revenue, Park Cedar Rapids could lower their tickets fees so that I don't have to take out a bridge loan from Wells Fargo to pay all my tickets plus late fees. And with the extra money, maybe they could allow us to park for more than 30 minutes at a time in downtown. I mean, come on, 30 minutes isn't enough time to do anything!

Let's try this and see what happens! I'll be the first customer to put my logo on one of those ugly orange envelopes.

Just don't blame ME when you get a ticket.
