Last month 63 year-old Michael Olson of Cedar Rapids was riding his motorcycle when he was struck by a Honda Accord at the intersection of 20th Avenue and C Street S.W. The driver of the Accord fled the scene and unfortunately, Olson suffered a brain injury and broken bones which resulted in his passing.

Olson's family was able to get a description on the suspect, which they described as a woman in her 20's with long, dark hair. After over a month of searching for the suspect, Cedar Rapids Police have 25 year-old Ashley Nicole Pennington in custody, according to KCRG.

KCRG reports that "police say Pennington was driving a 2000 Honda Accord, which had been reported stolen on September 26, when she failed to yield on a left-hand turn at C Street and 20th Avenue SW on October 1."
Pennington was in Polk County Jail on unrelated charges when she was brought to Linn County. She now faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, second degree theft and forgery.
