Cedar Rapids Will Go To The Dogs This Saturday
If you've ever thought about adopting a lovable new four-legged furry friend, there's an event this Saturday just for you!
Cedar Rapids Animal Care & Control is having its annual "Pet Fair" on Saturday, August 4 at their shelter, located at 900 76th Avenue Drive SW.
The event will run from Noon-4 p.m. starting with a dedication for Don and Karen McElhinney, in honor of their support and contributions to the "Friends Helping Friends" foundation.
The event will also feature local pet rescue groups, pet training and daycare, and booths offering information on basic pet care and tips. You can participate in family activities including a cake walk, bake sale, kids' games, prizes, raffles and entertainment all afternoon, with refreshments for all. Also check out two special wildlife presentations by "WildThunder Wildlife & Animal Rehabilitation & Sanctuary" at 1 and 2:30 p.m. A great chance for your kids to learn about and interact with many types of animals!
Adoption fees are $25 for spayed or neutered dogs and $50 for unaltered cats. Spayed or neutered cats and kittens will be available for a donation in the amount of your choice. The fee includes initial vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick treatment and a microchip.
