What a long, strange trip it's been to welcome the return of a piano superstar to Cedar Rapids, but Jim Brickman is on his way back for a Christmas party like no other! Summer is halfway over, going way too fast and it's WAY too early to think about Christmas, but hear me out.

Think back about 6 years to the last time we actually got to see him in person in Cedar Rapids. Last Christmas he put on a pretty decent show, virtually, from his home studio, and each one was exclusive to ticket-holders to that event, supporting their local venues, in our case the Paramount Theatre. But, trust me, it was not the same as seeing him in person.

We are seeing the pandemic slow down and folks get vaccinated, which means "The Gift of Christmas" will truly be a gift we've been waiting for on December 13, at 7:30 p.m. General on-sale for tickets starts this Friday, July 9 at 10 a.m. but a presale is underway NOW (no code needed). Here is the link to the presale and further information on the show and tickets when they go on sale.

Needless to say, I am excited about this show, not just because it signals a return to normalcy and the long-awaited return of one of my favorite musicians, but at one of his previous appearances here, I got to be part of a meet-and-greet with Jim who was extremely fun and cordial to everyone.

He doesn't just play Christmas tunes at these shows, including the staples and his originals like "The Gift" and "Sending You a Little Christmas" but often throws in his other notable songs like "Valentine" and "Hero's Dream". I can't wait!

As the CREventsLive website sums up nicely:

Jim Brickman: The Gift of Christmas celebrates the gift of family, the gift of friends, the gift of peace, and the gift of love, wrapped up in sweet sounds of the season only he and his piano can provide.
