Cirque Musica Does Not Dissapoint

When I first heard about Cirque Musica, I knew it'd be a real treat.  I had been looking forward to it for a while.  As I said before, the drama of the orchestra with the dramatic performance of a circus... this could be stunning.  And indeed, it was. It's hard to say what act was my favorite.  And I certainly don't want to ruin it if you're catching the 2:30p show today.  But I must say from the get-go, the first act blew my mind.

You know how testosterone drive thrill event ads will say "we'll give you the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge"?  Yeah, that's the first major performance.  I was simply stunned, and found it tough to clap as I had to keep picking my jaw up off the floor.

In fact, there were so many amazing acts.  You can't miss what the mother and daughter team do in an act called "the perch".  By the way, they are a relation to the world famous "Flying Walendas".  I'm still in shock how the mother could possibly still do what she did, especially as she's getting up there in her years.  Just stunned!

I also have to tell you I'm extremely impressed with the Orchestra, who learned the music only recently, and performed it with the circus performers for the first time earlier today, hours before the curtain opened.

They deserve crazy credit.  If I had trouble clapping because I was so impressed, think what it would be like to continue to play your instrument as you're seeing something so unbelievable in front of you, mere feet away, for the first time.  How about a big round of applause for the orchestra.

All in all, what a fantastic show.  It was true orchestra, with the added circus acrobatic visual. It's perfect for first timers and little ones (like my 6 year old) too, as you get the added visual, with a very "pop" orchestra soundtrack, including "Flight of the Bumblebee", "Night on Bald Mountain", Themes from "Star Wars" and "Superman", a Beatles Medley, the "1812 Overture", "William Tell Overture", and Copeland's "Hoe Down" (the "Beef" theme song).  Again, such a fantastic, entertaining evening.  Don't miss it at 2:30 this afternoon.

Oh, the "Host" was pretty hysterical too.
