College Community Schools Investigate Threatening Message
Even on a weekend, with a near-empty campus, every threat is now being taken very seriously.
An inter-campus e-mail was sent out this weekend to parents and staff at College Community Schools in Cedar Rapids, specifying tomorrow, Sunday, March 4 as a day for a potential threat to be carried out on campus.
If you see something, say something, and that's just what one student did upon seeing questionable writing on a bathroom wall, singling out the aforementioned date. While there is no evidence of this as a credible threat at this time, and the significance of Sunday is unclear, we've seen such threats recently shut down schools as a safety precaution while they are investigated.
Prairie High School, according to this message, has already determined the need to place a Cedar Rapids Police officer on campus Sunday.
I am in contact with a friend, who is a parent of students at Prairie and shared this information with me, as seen below. We will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
