A real Iowan knows that the most unique marriage proposal has to be really "corny".

Richland, Iowa farmer Aaron Adam invited his girlfriend Shelby Chapman on a spontaneous hot-air balloon ride, where he proposed above a 45-acre corn maze he grew and decorated himself.

He had some help from his friends Jerry Gorman at J & S Precision Ag Plus, and Jim Lafrenze at Pioneer Hybrids. Jerry helped him draw boundaries in a field allowing him to spell out the special message, "will you marry me?"  Meanwhile, Jim helped him find corn stalks with two different distinct colored tassels.

When the whole project was done, up Aaron and Shelby went in their romantic hot-air balloon ride, where within 15 minutes, Aaron was putting a ring on Shelby's finger, high above this expansive field of love

See for yourself here.

Congrats to the happy couple! We wish them a lifetime of happiness.
