I'm back!

On Friday the 7th I went back to my home state of Michigan, which is where I've been for the past 10 days. It was a very busy "vacation!" I spent my time participating in wedding activities, hanging out with my family, snuggling my dog, working out, eating at all my favorite restaurants, and attending my 10-year class reunion. The highlight of the week wasn't any of those things, though. My favorite thing that happened was actually my trip to the Detroit Zoo on Saturday morning. Why? Because I GOT TO FEED A GIRAFFE! Meet Jabari:

During the summer months, the Detroit Zoo offers an option to feed the giraffes for $5. You have to get there right when the zoo opens, though, because spots are limited and they full up quick! I haven't had the opportunity to feed them in a very long time, so we were sure to be first in line on Saturday. We got to do the 11 a.m. feeding and it was PERFECT!

The Detroit Zoo is truly one of my favorite places on the planet. The people there are very dedicated to wildlife rescue and conservation, and they use the zoo to educate patrons, as well as entertain them. They're constantly updating exhibits to give their animals the best lives possible. Every time I visit they're working on something new! Here are a few other pictures from my zoo trip:
