Eastern Iowans in need of food have several different options this week thanks to Amerigroup and local food banks! According to an official press release:

"Amerigroup will provide more than 50,000 meals to impacted Iowans to support ongoing disaster recovery efforts as many people are rebuilding lives and communities following the August 10 derecho.

Amerigroup’s relief efforts will provide meals to families, children, and seniors to ensure access and affordability of healthy meals so fewer Iowans will go hungry in the coming days."

Volunteers will be stationed at several drive-thru (no contact) distribution sites in the area today, August 24th, through Friday, August 28th. The food is free and will be available to the community on a first-come, first-served basis. Here is the daily schedule:
