Eastern Iowa Venue Hosts Free Wedding for Health Care Heroes
Austin Bird and Jonna Hicks are health care heroes from Davenport. They will be getting married tonight, and one area venue is ensuring the ceremony will be stress-free, providing the service almost all expenses paid.
For their tireless work during the COVID-19 pandemic, Little Lights on the Lane in West Branch has chosen Austin and Jonna as a couple who know what it means to "Be the Light", which is the theme of their wedding giveaway promotion.
All Austin and Jonna will have to do is pick up the bar tab. Otherwise, $40,000 goes towards their dream wedding. Little Lights owner Erin Morrison-Vincent talked to KCRG about what this award entails:
It’s a full wedding, from the invites all the way up to the food photography, videography, dress, hair, makeup, all of the things
The perfect way for the perfect couple to be rewarded for their efforts to serve the community in a stressful industry during a trying time. Morrison-Vincent went on to say "we’ve all been through some really hard things the last couple of years. But any opportunity you have to be a light for somebody in your community or just to another person, you should always take that."
While this is the first free wedding Little Lights has sprung for during the pandemic, it's the second overall. It will happen tonight, Friday, October 1 and we along with the team at Little Lights and their partner vendors in the event wish Austin and Jonna a long happy life, and our thanks for what they do to ensure their community's well-being.
