An eastern Iowa woman was arrested by authorities two states away after they say she was planning physical contact with a person under 16-years-old.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office in Kentucky, on October 15, their detectives were made aware of an Iowa adult female that

had been having an ongoing online relationship with a juvenile male. Detectives were told that the online relationship was sexual in nature and that the female was traveling to Paducah, Kentucky to meet the juvenile male.

Later the same day, at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 20-year-old Brisen Brodigan of Dysart, Iowa arrived in the city of Paducah, Kentucky. She was then arrested by detectives.

Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office were able to uncover evidence that Brodigan was having an online sexual relationship with a male who was under 16-years-old. They also say she was planning physical contact with the juvenile.

Brodigan was charged with Promoting a Minor, Under 16, in a Sex Performance. She was booked into the McCracken County Jail and has since been released on bail.

The Cedar Rapids City Council advanced the project in September, estimated at $71 million. Construction at the site on the west side, close to the Cedar River downtown, is tentatively scheduled to happen in three phases. The first to begin in 2022 with the construction on the project not wrapping up until 2030.
