A Beverly Hills home once owned by Eddie Van Halen has hit the market, listed for $2.9 million.

The three-bedroom, four-bathroom Cape Cod-style home is located inside a gated community and sits on half an acre of land. It features vaulted ceilings, dark hardwood floors and both canyon and city-light views from its deck.

Van Halen sold the property in 2008 for $1.5 million, but it's unclear whether the rocker ever actually lived in the home. Since the early '80s, he's lived in the 10,000-square-foot Coldwater Canyon home where he built the detached 5150 studio in which his band recorded every one of their albums since 1984.

The band's last studio album arrived in 2012 with A Different Kind of Truth, and their last North America tour in 2015. There hasn't been much on the Van Halen news front since then, though there were rumors about a possible reunion that would include two of the band's singers, David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. But to date there's been no word of any such plans.

Recently, the band's bass player, Eddie's son Wolfgang, has been protecting both his dad's honor, as well as fans' cash, when he went up against an Eddie Van Halen impostor on Instagram. Wolfgang, who recently released a clip from his upcoming solo album, said the fake account was run by a Boston woman named Vanessa in a foiled plot to steal $40,000.
